Carbohyrdates!

đŸ„”đŸ„CarbohydratesđŸŒœđŸŽ

Carbs have been given a stigma of being unhealthy in general consumption. Phrases such as “carbs make you fat” make people think they should be reducing their carbs to maintain a healthy diet, but this isn’t true.

Carbs contribute primarily to the body’s energy use, and should contribute to 45-65% of overall macronutrient consumption. This allows the body to function efficiently without taking energy from other macronutrients that play main roles other than energy usage such as protein.

Whole grains, fruits, and vegetables are examples of the better carbohydrates to consume in a balanced diet rather than refined foods and desserts.

Fat gain comes not from carb consumption in general, but from consuming overall energy above the body’s needs. This can come not only from overconsumption of carbs, but fat and protein as well.
